Odd Armor

Description

Probably one of the oddities of greek arms and armour. The Dendra Panopoly( Armour Suit) was found in Dendra, a settlement located somewhere in the larissa prefecture in Greece. This armour is one of the earliest types of greek armour suits, dating back around 1400 B.C. The armor, as uou see here, covers the entirety of the soldier's body and gives excellent protection of the time, Kinda like the Maximillian Armour of the age. However, this suit might be way too heavy for footmen to wear around, so archaelogists suggest that this type of suits were probably worn by Chariot-Soldiers and noblemen (The one that I drew here probably belonged to a chariot-soldier, since nobleman's armor might probably sport a lot of onraments)
Noblemen and commanders might have also choose this armour since their combat duties were probably little and chariot-based.

This panopoly might have been in use of the time of the Epic Trojan War, since this armour has been in use from 1400 B.C. to the appearance of hoplitai armour in 750 B.C. and the Trojan War's supposed occurence happened sometime in the 1200'sB.C., it is most likely that these suits have seen action there.

*The illustration where I based this drawing on is by Clive Spong for the book, "Warfare in the Classical World" by John Barry
